Olen, his wife Debbie, and daughter Laura, live and work on the family farm where Olen was born and raised in the North Fork Valley in the east end of Delta County, Colorado.  They also have two sons, Bob and Mike that were the 4^th generation of Olen’s family to graduate from Paonia High School and are now attending college in Golden, Colorado.

After graduating from Paonia High School, Olen received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a Master of Science Degree in Welding Engineering from The Ohio State University.

Prior to serving as Delta County Commissioner, Debbie and Olen owned and operated Lund Laser Technology, Inc., an industrial laser processing job shop outside of Paonia.  Olen has worked as a Laser Process Development Engineer for Laser Machining, Inc. in Somerset, Wisconsin and as a Process Engineer in the corporate Laser Material Process Development Group for Caterpillar, Inc., in Peoria, Illinois.

In addition to having served as Delta County Commissioner for the past 6 years, Olen is currently Treasurer and Superintendant of the Paonia Ditch Company, serves on the Gunnison Basin Water Roundtable, is President of the Delta County Farm & Livestock Bureau, Vice Chair of the Colorado Counties, Inc. Agriculture, Wildlife, and Rural Affairs Committee, Delta County Representative on the Club 20 Board of Directors, and a member of the Public Lands Partnership executive committee.

Dave is a small business owner of, Laursen Repairs & Beyond in Montrose, as well as Chairman of the Montrose Republican Party, Chairman of the Montrose Area Merchants Association, Chairman of Montrose Citizens for Funding Our Future, Board Member and past Chairman of the Montrose County Planning Commission, and member and past President of the Montrose Business Association.

David White, Montrose County Commissioner

David is originally from Coral Gables, Florida and has lived in Montrose since 1999.  He has varied experience in businesss and in public service.  Prior to moving to Montrose, David served as a General Manager for Bekins Moving and Storage, Vice President of Carl J. White and Associates, Inc. (a consulting firm), and a City councilor for the City of Colorado Springs from 1989 to 1993.  He is currently the CEO of Future Moves of America and President of the MOOving Co., LLC (an intrastate household good moving company). 

Service in Montrose:  City Council 2004 - 2008, Mayor from 2007-2008, Economic Development Corporation board of directors (three years), and Montrose County Airport Advisory Board.

David earned his Bachelor of Scinece degree in business Administration from Auburn University and has attended the Graduate School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado.

He and his wife Dawn have six children between the ages of 15 and 30 and three grandchildren.  David's interest include classic cars, reading, skiing, shooting, exercise, and cooking.
